DESCRIPTION
The TB-801/36 is a modular, up to 36 Port TeleCluster line booster.
The unit is designed to extend the operational characteristics of
the two-wire Unisys CTOS TeleCluster terminal networks. It can be
used directly from a SG SuperGen Server or as a "secondary star"
configuration when installed at the end of a standard TeleCluster
cable run. A third level is also supported allowing further
cabling extension.
Each port can support cable distances up to 1000 feet. Subsequent
levels will reduce this specification by approximately 10%.
The TB-801/36 is available in a 19" rack mount panel with 36
RJ-45 modular connectors. The panel can accommodate up to four
TB-801 nine port driver modules. Multiple nine port modules can be
connected to an adjacent module allowing additional TeleCluster
cable runs; or each module can accept a separate TeleCluster input.
The TB-801 module is also available in a 6" stand alone nine port
table top model that can also be mounted to plywood in a
communication closet. A table top/plywood mounting kit is also
available for the 19" TB-801/36 version.
The TB-801/36 is compatible with Unisys TeleCluster hubs and
adapters or the internal TeleCluster port on the SG series
workstations. Thirteen LEDs on each module are used to monitor power
and the data flow through the unit. A 9VAC wall mount transformer
is used to supply power. Two of the modules may be powered from
one transformer.
