DESCRIPTION
One or more of the driver modules may be "chained" together on the
panel, allowing one polled host line to potentially supply up to 48
output lines; each supporting a different signal discipline.
Connectors
For complete redundancy, each Driver Module also has its own on-board
power supply powered by a wall mount transformer. This modular approach
allows for optimum flexibility and backup allowing the Driver Modules
to be changed or added in just a few minutes.

Backup
NOTE: Use these standard P-CONs on Point-to-Point Asynchronous
polled networks only. Operation on Synchronous or Multi-Point async
networks, may require an intelligent converter such as an
M-SAT or M-BAT between
the modem and the P-CON.
Mounting
It is made from 14 gauge cold rolled steel painted black. The EIA hole spacing
standard is maintained for mounting standard 19" panels.
TDI
The 12 separately isolated, two-wire, TDI driver circuits for each
RJ-11/45 port allow cabling distances of up to 1500' per port when
operating over twisted pair cable.
Since UTP cable does not support pin #1 frame ground, each TDI Module
has a separate built in surge protection circuit and green wire ground
connection that can be attached to a properly grounded rack or other
handy ground.
POLLED RS-232
No terminal converters or boosters are required as long as the terminals
are connected within a valid RS-232 cable range; normally 100-150 feet.
When further distance connections are required, a small booster at the
terminal may be used to drive the signal back to the P-CON (See
AB-32).
The POLLED RS-232 Module incorporates CPS's Super Serial Drivers (SSD)
that supports three wire RS-232 cable connections (TX-RX-Signal Ground)
at distances of up to 2000'. A fourth conductor is also available that
can be connected to the anti-streaming feature of the RS-232 module.
The RS-232 Module represents a very economical method of connecting polled
PCs to the host without requiring a converter or internal board for each
PC. Only those that are beyond the RS-232 distance limit may require the
AB-32.
