The "Single Box Approach"
Dear CPS Customer:
In case you have been out of our loop lately, here is a quick update as to some of our efforts in the
AC power control segment of our product line. Perhaps there is something that you can use.
Recently, we have embarked on an effort toward putting some of the more popular AC Power Control
Products into a single box.
Normally with our product line, you would choose a BASE UNIT to control the AC Power. If it did not
have all of the communication control capabilities that you needed, you would add a COMUNICATION
CONTROLLERS (IP, Cell, Touch-tone, controllers etc.) to handle the communications.
Although this approach provides a great deal of flexibility, market demand for some of the more common
combinations dictated a less complicated, cleaner, and less costly "single box" approach.
More specifically in the areas of TCP/IP and Telephone Line Control.
The following are some of the products that have been under going this single box metamorphosis.
The latest product is the NEW N-AC1. It combines
an AC Power BASE UNIT and the TCP/IP Network CONTROLLER into a single box.
At $189.00 (qty. discounts are also available),
it represents the lowest price point on the market for this type of product while still providing a number
of unique functions for a broad range of application possibilities.
Previously this network controlled AC Power function would cost at least $275.00 with "two box approach"...
that's a savings of over 30% with the "single box".
Internal Touch-tone Controller... ITTO
It also provides multi level password protection, status inquires and can share the
telephone line with a phone, fax, ans machine, etc…as well as a host of other goodies.
Previously an external controller was required for this application at $135.00 + the Base Unit. Now you can
simply add the internal controller (ITTO) starting at just $26.00 to a number of AC power BASE UNITS.... and
its' really neat too. The resulting single box Touch-tone combination starts at just $115.00. Again,
no one in the world can touch this price point for a Touch-tone controlled AC power strip for North American 115V
applications. Previously this network controlled functionality would cost $225.00 and up with the "two box"
approach...
NEW BASE UNITS
Basically, they provide the same basic AC Power control functions as the ARR power strip family, except
that they are smaller (better for kiosk and signs).
They are also more updated and have a USB connection for control as well as retaining the RS-232 and
Telephone line connections. The Ring reboot function is standard, but you can also add the ITTO, as previously
described, for additional telephone line control.
The U-Xs can handle both North American and International AC voltages from 110V to 250V, making them easy
to install anywhere in the world.
Is normally used to automatically RESET network equipment.
It is used in applications environments where there is no PC available to run the Auto Ping Software.
Just connect it directly to a TCP/IP network and connect the AC power from the hardware that needs
to be automatically RESET. Note the PC/serial port approach is still the least expensive since
the Auto Ping Software is FREE with any qualifying Base Unit.
