DESCRIPTION
With the Basic Mini Firewall installed, the connection to the LAN is disabled while
the modem session is in progress. This eliminates the possibility of causing security
breaches via unscrupulous Internet connections or network equipment that may also have
a maintenance modem. The LAN connection is automatically re-established when the modem
call is completed.
The Basic Mini Firewall is quite simple, easy to use, and highly effective. It uses
relays to physically disconnect the LAN connection when the modem is in use.
When the modem call is completed, the network connection is again automatically
restored.
The Stand Alone unit has two RJ-11 connectors that connect the telephone line to the
analog side of the modem and two RJ-45 connectors that connect the network interface
card in the PC server to the LAN.
It requires no external AC power and has one LED that indicates modem activity
and LAN disconnect.
The Mini Firewall is available in two platforms; a Stand Alone Box, and a
Secure Fire Wall Plate.
